Default Windows 7 and gaming, bc issues

first i am having an issue with the 1.0 download. i downloaded from the German server and upon extraction and transferring the extract to the bc 1.1 folder this happens. the files transfer ok but some files in scripts, data ect wont transfer over correctly like the file is vacant, no info. upon my first install km did work however the camera seemed fracked up. even multiplayer worked. i tried to change the screen resolution in the km folder but couldn't get a good fit. also wide screen didn't work so i tried the wide screen option in km which furthered messed up the correct base camera angle. upon trying this bc crashed and any attempt to start a game or qb has failed. i have not tried running bc in xp sp2 option but will try.
i have installed armada 2 and again the game did not run giving me some error of not enough memory in hd and virtual memory. this was fixed by running a2 in xp sp2 and the game runs flawlessly.
i tried to reinstall km again to core 1.1 and it did not work at all and i was missing files.
for the people like rich and others who have 7 how did you make bc work properly? i am running windows 7 professional 64 bit.
how do you fix the wide screen issue? what native resolution will work best in bc? again i will try to reinstall bc and try the xp sp2 option maybe that will fix everything as i never had to fix any wide screen issues in xp.
as i am having issues with the file transfer within the German km server is there another site i can try? i know i had issues with this site in the past but don't remember where i downloaded from. please respond asap so i can join you guys. ty

As far as I know the best solution to this is to install KM into a seperate folder like C:/KM or something similar since Win 7 and Vista don't like it when you mess with the Program Files folder. I had to do this with my laptop (Vista). Give this a try and see if that fixes it. If not try turning off User Account Control. Like I said Vista can be pretty screwy with BC, at least in my experience. Which is why XP=Epic Win.

I also have windows 7 64 bit but havent had the issues you said for BC but i did for armada and ran it just like you did in xp sp2 comp.

For BC however i use the maximum availible resolution, and even though there are black bits at the side(i have a 40 inch hd tv that the pc plugs into) it doesnt annoy me. so my suggestion would be reinstall BC 1.1 then extract KM to your desktop and then drag and drop it into the bc folder, its what i did. hope it helps mate

I am running in windows 7, 64 bits, and still i haven't fixed my resolution with bc. I am using max resolution, but still i have that black on the sides. For me, its alright, maybe because i dont know how to fix it, but i dont care about it anymore.

I think the resolution isnt windows 7 related, but just BC doesnt support it....yet.

Hi ppl, Hi Moni,

I'm also running Win 7 and am really happy with it.
First: your Armada 2 problem.
I've had the same experience. I just copied an (older) previously installed verson which was running on XP. Well, it gave me the same Error as you got.
1) try to re-install the game completely NEW.
2) if that does not work, Win 7 also has the great comfort of a "compatibility mode". Try that for your next move.
3) rd option would be that you google an Win 7 patch for Armada or you look an fiflefront.

BC.... and your wide screen.
Well, I made a post to that earlier this month.
go here:
Wide-screen
YOU NEED TO READ THE THREAT TILL THE END!!!!
Be sure to use notepad ++ ( which you also find on Google )
MAKE A BACK-UP of options.cfg.

let me know how it goes.
